Wabash Valley Student Film Festival

June 7, 2008 @ 2:30 pm

In an effort to support talented young people and to develop the theater as a community resource, the Community Theatre of Terre Haute will once again be hosting The Wabash Valley Student Film Festival. This festival is open to all High School and University students in the Wabash Valley.

At our last festival we showed 9 movies (2 class projects, 2 documentaries, and 5 shorts movies) on a variety of surprising and interesting themes. The audience voted to give awards to three student groups and most of the festival attenders enjoyed the event. However, to improve the festival this year, we will need the continuing support of teachers, faculty, interested volunteers and students. Anyone with talents in teaching, acting, script writing, publicity and technical expertise is encouraged to participate.

We are asking students to submit movies of about 15 to 20 minutes in length in a DVD format. These may be complete works or selections of longer works that have been excerpted for the festival. Films will be accepted that explore a wide variety of themes and issues although they will be screened to make sure they meet standards of quality appropriate to the theater.

DVD movies should be sent to:

The Wabash Valley Film Festival
Community Theatre of Terre Haute
1431 S. 25th St.
Terre Haute, Indiana, 47803

They must be mailed by May 23, 2008.

Additional information may be obtained by sending a note to Eric Anderson - The Wabash Valley Student Film Festival Committee.
